Since the emergence of COVID-19, the prevalence of food-insecure children in America has increased by 20 percent, reaching Depression-era statistics. One in 4 U.S. children is now living with food insecurity, up from 1 in 7 prior to the pandemic (USDA Economic Research Service, September 2019).
