IN NATIONAL STUDENT ENTREPRENEURSHIP COMPETITION THEIR PROJECT HURRIHOME SHINES

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA- [June 14, 2019] – Five student teams from across the country traveled to SAP Headquarters for the AdCap Challenge Finalist Experience – the culminating event of the AdCap Challenge, a national competition by GENYOUth, (a youth wellness non-profit) to cultivate entrepreneurship and innovation in young people looking to help solve pervasive global issues. Over the course of three days, students completed mini-challenges, heard from business and health professionals and were mentored and coached by partners including, SAP, Corteva Agriscience, Domino’s, Land O’Lakes, and National Dairy Council. Hundreds of student teams created solutions to questions posed by Challenge Partners, but only five teams made it to the Finalist Experience where they interacted with and learned directly from top executives.

GENYOUth CEO, Alexis Glick, judged the Shark Tank-style pitches on the final day of competition saying, “It’s thrilling to see the present and future of social entrepreneurship reflected in these incredible young thinkers and doers. Their solutions have tremendous potential to create change in communities and the world. The AdCap Challenge would not be possible without our amazing Challenge partners who are looking to young people to help innovate and define the future and spent so much time listening and learning from these student teams.”

DJ Paoni, President, SAP North America, spoke and presided over the winner announcement. “Today, we saw from these students ingenuity, ambition, and passion for addressing real issues being felt in their communities. The AdCap Challenge offers the tools and resources to help unleash students’ natural entrepreneurial spirit, and I’m proud that SAP is part of this movement to empower thousands of students to be a force for positive change.”

The five finalist teams were selected out of 100 semi-finalists to compete in the Finalist Experience. They pitched in front of esteemed judges, Glick, Kim Fraites-Dow, CEO, Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania, Donna Fisby-Greenwood, CEO, The Fund For The School District of Philadelphia.
