This year’s Fuel Up to Play 60 Student Ambassador Summit featured GENYOUth’s largest Fuel Up Innovation Challenge to date. 120 students and three sponsoring partners, Land O’Lakes, Ecolab and Quaker who mentored them, came together to pitch farm-to-table ideas for the opportunity to win 40K in funding at the event.
The University of Minneapolis proved to be a great venue for inspiring creative, entrepreneurial thinking from the students who pitched ideas including social awareness campaigns about foods’ nutritional information, community gardens and student-powered smoothie stations in the cafeteria. While only 40 students took home funding, we believe all students left with the belief that they have the potential to be social entrepreneurs whose voices and ideas can make an impact.
