Root4Her
Root4Her addresses the steep decline in girls’ physical activity upon reaching middle and high school. By age 13, girls drop out of sport and physical activity at twice the rate of boys, and the decline is even more dramatic in communities of color.
Based on insights from physical education teachers, counselors, and girls themselves, Root4Her addresses the specific barriers that negatively impact girls’ participation. The program’s equipment, resources, and curriculum motivate girls to step up, fuel their body, and be active!
