NFL Builds On Commitment To Youth With Additional $1.5 Million Investment

The NFL Foundation doubled down on its commitment to youth health and wellness with an additional $1.5 million to provide an additional 4,000 NFL FLAG Essentials Kits to Fuel Up to Play 60 schools nationwide as part of its long-standing partnership with Fuel Up to Play 60 and GENYOUth.

The NFL Foundation doubled down on its commitment to youth health and wellness with an additional $1.5 million to provide an additional 4,000 NFL FLAG Essentials Kits to Fuel Up to Play 60 schools nationwide as part of its long-standing partnership with Fuel Up to Play 60 and GENYOUth. This is in addition to the $1 million the NFL invested last year that supported Fuel Up to Play 60 and FLAG.

This renewed commitment brings dynamic student activity programming to even more schools to help millions of students be more physically active. FLAG helps students and educators in elementary and middle schools get active both inside and outside the school building before, during and after school by offering resources, recognition and curriculum to help kids get 60 minutes of physical activity a day. In fact, 98 percent of educators reported using the Kits throughout the school year.

Schools can find out more at the Fuel Up website where 1,600 Kits will be offered. Remaining Kits will be distributed among 18 school districts in NFL markets: Baltimore, Charlotte, N.C., Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, Detroit, Green Bay, Wis., Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Mo., New Orleans, New York City, Oakland, Calif., Philadelphia, San Diego, Tampa, Fla., Nashville, Tenn., and Washington.

Fuel Up Scores with Its Presence at NFL Draft
To further expand on the NFL star power and tremendous public and thought leader interest and conversation around the 2016 Draft, Fuel Up to Play 60 will participate in FLAG Clinics as part of the NFL “Draft Town” activities April 27-29.

Working in partnership with Midwest Dairy Association, this event – which takes place at Chicago’s Grant Park – offers kids the opportunity to participate in skills and drills with some of the top NFL Draft Prospects. In addition, two Fuel Up to Play 60 Student Ambassadors will interview prospects during the Clinic.

Beyond Draft Town activities, two Student Ambassadors will get a behind-the-scenes look at the Draft and observe news conferences following each Prospect’s selection during Thursday’s First Round Draft.
