YOUTH ENGAGEMENT

Student Voices at the Center of the Conversation

Young People Aren’t Just the Beneficiaries of Change—They’re Powerful Drivers of It.

Through research, leadership opportunities, and youth-led projects, GENYOUth elevates student voice and empowers young people to shape healthier schools and communities.

GENYOUth Insights

Informed Perspectives

It’s all about caring about and capturing the perspectives of teens across the country through national research on nutrition, physical activity, P.E. programs, and school wellness.

Data-driven findings help inform GENYOUth’s programs, and provide actionable intelligence for educators, partners, funders, and policymakers.

National Youth Council

If It's About Me, Don't Do It Without Me!

GENYOUth’s National Youth Council brings together a diverse group of student leaders from across the country — ensuring that the voices shaping our mission are the same voices we’re working to serve. It’s a simple idea that sets us apart: authentic insights and actions shaped by students.

Council members don’t just advise from the sidelines. They work directly with GENYOUth and our partners to amplify youth perspectives, and they lead hands-on initiatives that create measurable impact in their own school communities — improving student health and wellness where it matters most. Along the way, they build the leadership, communication, and advocacy skills that will serve them well beyond their time on the Council.

“This program believes in me in a way I did not know was possible, giving me the confidence and courage to follow my dreams.”

— Kayla, National Youth Council Alumna
