Fuel Up To Play 60
Over the past decade, the program has empowered youth to make healthy choices that produce results, earning it recognition as the leading in-school youth wellness program. Fuel Up to Play 60 is celebrating 10 years of empowering kids to eat healthier and move more!

About the Program
Since its launch in 2009 more than 73,000 schools have enrolled in Fuel Up to Play 60 – that’s two thirds of all schools in the U.S. representing 38 million students. A third of these schools are located in large urban areas, where many at-risk kids reside. The program is offered to all schools with students in grades K-12, at no cost.
The numbers tell the success story of the program’s reach and effectiveness, with 13 million students actively engaged, more than 14 million students eating healthier and 18 million more physically active thanks to the program.
Through Fuel Up to Play 60, over $60 million in grants and resources has been given directly to schools to jump-start sustainable changes to the eating and physical activity environments in schools nationwide. 60% of those resources have supported low-income and underserved school communities.

Fuel Up To Play 60 En Español
FUTP 60 En Español addresses a language and cultural gap by offering materials that are culturally relevant to Latinx students and their families. It’s fueling greatness among Latinx youth.
In our diverse society, the benefits that come with improved nutrition and more opportunities for physical activity in the school environment should be available to all youth. Language and culture should never be barriers when it comes to creating cultures of wellness in schools.
That’s why GENYOUth launched Fuel Up to Play 60 en Español in 2015 — to build on the existing Fuel Up to Play 60 program by “transcreating” it for the large and expanding segment of the country that feels most at home with the Spanish language.
Latinx youth represent the largest, youngest and fastest growing minority group in the nation. Today, more than one in five youth between the ages of 10 and 19 in the U.S. is Latinx. By 2024, Hispanic youth are projected to represent 29 percent of all U.S. public school students, increasing to nearly one in three school children by 2040.
The initiative is opening up new opportunities for youth empowerment and family engagement.
